Fly Me to the Moon is a Belgian CGI animated 3D feature film. It was released in digital 3D in Belgium on January 30, 2008 and in the USA and Canada on August 15, 2008. The film was also released in IMAX 3D in the USA and Canada starting August 8, 2008.

Fly Me to the Moon was directed by Ben Stassen and produced by nWave Pictures in association with Illuminata Pictures, and distributed by Summit Entertainment and Vivendi Visual Entertainment.

The total production budget of Fly Me to the Moon is €17.3 million (about $25.2 million). nWave financed about 75% of the budget itself. To raise the rest, investors could benefit from Belgium’s Tax Shelter system. The Flanders Audiovisual Fund contributed €100,000 ($146,100), 10% of its annual budget for animation.

Plot :

A preteen-aged fly named Nat and his two best friends, I.Q. and Scooter, build a “fly-sized” rocket in a field across from Cape Canaveral, Florida, where the Apollo 11 sits on the Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39. From his earliest memory, Nat remembers his grandfather, Amos, telling him of his daring rescue of Amelia Earhart when she and Fred Noonan crossed the Atlantic Ocean on their historic flight in 1937. Wanting to be an adventurer like his Grandpa, Nat knows what he has to do. Defying the notion that “Dreamers get swatted!” he tells his friends his plan to get aboard the Apollo 11 and go to the moon. His buddies, with some reluctance, are in. The next morning, as their families realize they are missing, the three flies make it to Space Center command. In their homemade space suits, Nat, I.Q. and Scooter stow away inside the space helmets of astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. As they blast off, our three tiny adventurers are about to make some history of their own.

Back on Earth, Grandpa, Mom and the others watch TV to get news of their offspring’s adventure. As the astronauts appear on camera, the heroic flies wave in the background, visible to other flies but barely seen by humans – except for the attentive NASA flight controller Steve Bales, who informs Armstrong that there appear to be “contaminants” on board. One other problem: In far-away Russia, there are other flies watching TV – Russian flies that cannot tolerate American flies getting to the moon first. A Russian plan is hatched and operatives are enlisted to interfere with the US mission. Mother Russia puts all its hopes of success on the back of one nasty operative named Yegor. Fortunately, a pretty Russian fly named Nadia also sees the flies on board and hears Scooter calling out Grandpa’s name, the very name of the fly Nadia met in Paris and loved so many years ago.

Back on board the space ship, as the burn cycle to enter the moon’s Trans Lunar Injection orbit begins, the spacecraft is rocketed violently. There’s a short circuit in the Service Module that must be fixed manually or the ship won’t be able to complete its mission. Nat and I.Q. fly through a maze of wires, find the problem and repair it just in time. Unaware of the flies’ aid, the ship enters orbit and all is well… or so they think. Just as they congratulate each other, the little flies are sprayed with a numbing aerosol and are captives in a test tube vial – contaminants indeed.

The flies manage to break the vial. Nat sneaks into Armstrong’s helmet just in the nick of time. The Lunar Module Eagle lands on Mare Tranquillitatis. From inside the helmet, Nat beams with every awe-inspiring historic step. I.Q. and Scooter join him on the surface inside Aldrin’s helmet. After a climatic rescue with Nat bringing Scooter back to the Columbia, the Eagle is jettisoned, Back on Earth, other plots are being set in motion. After more than 30 years apart, Nadia finds Grandpa, though the joy of their reunion is brief. She tells Grandpa and Nat’s Mom about the Russian plot to divert the mission to crash directly into Mount Rushmore. Nat’s Mom faints while Grandpa takes off with a renewed youthful vow to save his grandson. At Mission Control Center, the Russian operatives have infiltrated and are preparing to alter the descent codes. Unaware of the potential danger looming, the astronauts and the little flies sit back and prepare to come back home as heroes.

Grandpa, Nat’s Mom and Nadia join forces to stop Yegor and the Russian plan as the Command Module Columbia hurtles closer and closer toward Earth’s atmosphere. In a series of death-defying stunts, they crush the Russian threat. the Columbia splashes down safely in the Pacific Ocean, where it is recovered by the USS Hornet. Returning as heroes, the three little flies share a slogan embraced by all: “Adventure forever! Dreamers get swatted? Never!”

At the end the real Buzz Aldrin spoils the film by explaining that no flies were on board during the flight.

Plot :

A typical day on the slopes turns into a chilling nightmare for two snowboarders and a skier when they get stranded on the chairlift before their last run. As the ski patrol switches off the night lights, they realize with growing panic that they have been left behind dangling high off the ground with no way down.
With the resort closed until the following weekend and frostbite and hypothermia already setting in, the trio is forced to take desperate measures to escape off the mountain before they freeze to death. Once they make their move, they discover with horror that they have much more to fear than just the frigid cold. As they combat unexpected obstacles, they start to question if their will to survive is strong enough to overcome the worst ways to die.

Tooth Fairy is a comedy-fantasy film starring Dwayne Johnson as the title character and Julie Andrews, produced by Walden Media and due for release by 20th Century Fox on January 22, 2010.

Originally scheduled for release on November 13, 2009, it was currently slated for a mid-January release in 2010 to avoid competition with the studio’s other film, Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Plot :

Dwayne Johnson is “The Tooth Fairy”, also known as Derek Thompson, a hard-charging minor league hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids. When Derek discourages a youngster’s hopes, he’s sentenced to one week’s hard labor as a “real” tooth fairy, complete with the requisite tutu, wings, and magic wand. At first, Derek “can’t handle the tooth”—bumbling and stumbling as he tries to furtively wing his way through strangers’ homes…doing what tooth fairies do. But as Derek slowly adapts to his new position, he begins to rediscover his own forgotten dreams.

Fool’s Gold is an 2008 adventure/romance film from Warner Bros. Pictures about a married couple who rekindle their romantic life while searching for a lost treasure. The film was directed by Andy Tennant and reunites the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days stars Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson. The MPAA rated the film PG-13 for action violence, some sexual material, brief nudity and language.

Plot :

Benjamin “Finn” Finnegan (Matthew McConaughey) is a treasure hunter looking for a treasure from a Spanish galleon known as the Aurelia, that was lost at sea with the 1715 Treasure Fleet. In his search to find the treasure, his wife, Tess (Kate Hudson) divorces him. Tess has been working as a steward on a huge yacht owned by multi-millionaire Nigel Honeycutt (Donald Sutherland). Finn finds a clue to the location of the treasure and manages to get on Honeycutt’s yacht The Precious Gem and convince him, his daughter Gemma (Alexis Dziena) and Tess to join him in searching for the treasure. A local gangster named BiggBunny (Kevin Hart) and Finn’s mentor Moe Fitch (Ray Winstone) are intent on finding the treasure first.

The Precious Gem and Moe’s vessel compete to find the treasure in The Bahamas. As Finn attempts to secretly take down Moe’s search grid, Finn discovers a sword which is a clue to finding the treasure. Finn and Tess follow the clues to an ancient church and discover a diary describing the location of the treasure. BiggBunny and his associates, who have been following Finn and Tess, take Tess hostage and assume (incorrectly) that Finn was killed. BiggBunny forces Tess to aid him in the search for the treasure in a blowhole, the location revealed in the diary. Tess finds the treasure in a cave beneath the blowhole. Meanwhile, Finn and the Honeycutts enlist the help of Moe in taking the treasure out of BiggBunny’s hands. They arrive as BiggBunny sends one of his associates to bring him the treasure, and the other to take out Moe as he swims towards BiggBunny’s seaplane. The blowhole kills BiggBunny’s employee and traps Tess and Finn, while Moe tries to stop Bigg Bunny from taking off. Finn saves Tess only to have BiggBunny kidnap her from him again. Gemma gets Finn to BiggBunny’s plane on her jet ski and Finn leaps on the plane’s pontoon as the plane takes off. As BiggBunny attempts to shoot Finn, Tess kicks BiggBunny out of the plane and sends him into the ocean. The final BiggBunny henchman is taken prisoner by Moe (after he has shot Moe in the leg with a speargun).

Finn and Tess are reunited and save the treasure together and Tess is shown pregnant. Finn, Tess, Nigel, Gemma, Moe and those who contributed in helping or finding the treasure open a museum displaying all of their finds.

First Sunday is a 2008 American dramedy from Screen Gems, directed, written, and produced by David E. Talbert, and is his first feature film.

Plot :

The film follows Durell (Ice Cube) and LeeJohn (Tracy Morgan) in Baltimore, Maryland, who are best friends and bumbling petty criminals. Attempting to deliver ten stolen wheelchairs worth $1200 each, they lose the merchandise in a police chase. They are sentanced to 5000 hours of comunity services. Then they are told they have 24 hours to pay $12,000 to cover the loss or they will be shot dead. Simultaneously, Durell’s son will move to Atlanta unless he gives his ex some money to pay her lease. First they try to get a loan from a guy named Mordecai at a message parlor. LeeJohn goes to get a message first but is scared away when his massuse is Mordecai(a man). They come up with a desperate scheme to rob their neighborhood church. Instead, they are forced to deal with much more than they bargained for.

When they try to steal the money they find that the money has been already stolen. Enraged they both hold the church hostage until the money turns up. Durell then goes to fix the broken air conditioner while LeeJohn watches over the hostages. He expresses his sadness, and is comforted by Sister Doris.

Meanwhile, Durell and Tianna go to fix the air conditioner. After an awkward conversation, they finally get the air going, and Durell orders everyone back to the lobby. Then the blind, deaf janitor finds the missing money. Durell receives a phone call from his son, which he is ashamed to answer. Momma T then asks for Durell’s purpose for what he is doing. Durell answers that he is doing it for his son. Momma T then says that Durell is doing it for himself, as he is blaming everyone but the person responsible, himself.

He says that he will not lose his son and leaves the money. Unfortunately, cops have surrounded the church, blocking their way out. The pastor tells them to escape out the back, which leads to a chase which gets the two of them caught. At the trial, which the entire church is attending, The Deacon says that they have been accused of stealing 64,000 dollars. Although the amount of said money collected was half of what the Deacon claimed was stolen, which puts the deacon at question. Since none of the people stand when witnesses are called, the case is dropped. He goes back to Omunique’s apartment where he is confronted by the men who gave them the wheelchairs.

After he explains his situation, the two men allow him to go and get his son. Omunique opens the door yelling at Durell asking him where did the money come from. The money was left at her doorstep and Durell tells her it was a gift and to please don’t take his son away. Saying his son is all he has. she tells him that yes we will stay. In the end, everything works out for Durell and LeeJohn.

Friday the 13th is a 2009 American horror film directed by Marcus Nispel, and written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. It is a reboot of the Friday the 13th film series, which began in 1980 and previously released the 2003 crossover Freddy vs. Jason. Nispel also helmed the 2003 remake of Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), while Shannon and Swift wrote the screenplay for Freddy vs. Jason. The film stars Derek Mears as Jason Voorhees, with Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, and Danielle Panabaker portraying the male and female leads. Friday the 13th follows Clay Miller (Padalecki) as he searches for his missing sister, Whitney (Righetti), who is taken by Jason while camping in the woods at Crystal Lake.

Plot :

On June 13, 1980, a young Jason Voorhees (Caleb Guss) witnesses his mother (Nana Visitor) beheaded by a camp counselor (Stephanie Rhodes) who was trying to escape Mrs. Voorhees’s murderous rampage around Camp Crystal Lake. Approximately 30 years later, a group of vacationing friends—Wade (Jonathan Sadowski), Richie (Ben Feldman), Mike (Nick Mennell), Whitney (Amanda Righetti) and Amanda (America Olivo)—arrive at Crystal Lake on a camping trip to find some marijuana that was planted in the woods. As Mike and Whitney explore the abandoned Crystal Lake camp, an adult Jason (Derek Mears) begins to kill the rest of the group one-by-one. Jason also kills Mike, but instead of doing the same to Whitney he decides to kidnap her because she resembles his mother at a young age.

Six weeks later, Trent (Travis Van Winkle), along with his girlfriend Jenna (Danielle Panabaker), and their friends Bree (Julianna Guill), Chewie (Aaron Yoo), Chelsea (Willa Ford), Nolan (Ryan Hansen) and Lawrence (Arlen Escarpeta) arrive at Trent’s summer cabin, which sits on Crystal Lake. The group is unaware of the events that occurred a few weeks prior. Additionally, Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki) arrives in town to search Crystal Lake for his sister Whitney, whom he believes to be alive. Clay eventually makes his way to Trent’s cabin, where Jenna agrees to help him look for his sister on the other side of the lake. As Clay and Jenna search for clues to Whitney’s disappearance, Jason kills Nolan and Chelsea, who are waterskiing on the lake. Clay and Jenna reach the old Crystal Lake campgrounds, where they witness Jason hauling a dead body into one of the abandoned camp houses.

The pair run back to warn the others about Jason, who arrives shortly after them and cuts the power to the cabin. After killing Chewie and Lawrence, who ventured outside the house, Jason sneaks inside the cabin and kills Bree. Trent, Clay and Jenna escape the house, but Trent is killed when he reaches the main road. Jason then chases Clay and Jenna back to the campgrounds, where Clay discovers Jason’s lair and finds his sister chained to the wall. Clay frees Whitney, and all three attempt to escape as Jason arrives. The trio find an exit, but Jenna is killed before she can get out. Jason comes after Clay and Whitney, but Whitney uses Jason’s love and memory of his mother—by pretending to be Mrs. Voorhees—to distract him long enough to stab him in the chest with his own machete. Afterward, Clay dumps Jason’s lifeless body into the lake. Before he and Whitney can leave, Jason bursts through the wooden dock and grabs Whitney.
